Lady Gaga - Alejandro Music Video DiscussionClick image above to view video. --------------------- While Alejandro isn't my favourite song from TFM, and I was hoping for Dance in the Dark as the next single (which as I understand was the original plan) Gaga's videos are always amazing so I am looking forward to seeing the video, I still wish DitD was getting a video instead. Or even Speechless, I'd like to see her release a slower song.

I just watched "Alejandro" Music Video. The Music Video was epic. The music is different and so is the music video its self. The music video sorta reminds me of Madonna's Music Video "Vogue" and WW2 but I gotta say if you compare both music videos Lady Gaga Killed Madonna. It wouldn't surprise me if Alejandro would be her number seven #1 Hit in the U.S.. She is simple talented so is Klein the director of the video of Alejandro and Vogue. But when i orginalled thought of a music video of Alejandro i thought of her dancing in the streets of Mexico or Italy but it is completely different. Its a master piece.

What a strange video, even for a Gaga song, Lol. I gotta say, I've always had this slutty feeling when hearing the song, but that's been brought to an all new level with the video, aha. At the guns on her bra! Mwahah. Totally killed Madonna indeed.

Right, I've watched the video a few times now and I've gave it the chance to really sink in and decide how I feel about it, and I really, really like it. It's not my favourite Gaga video (that's Paparazzi and/or Bad Romance) but for me this whole video is about the visuals and the message(s) over the actual song, because as I've said before, I would have much preferred DitD to be the new single after Telephone. While Alejandro is a decent enough song, it's one of the weaker ones on The Fame Monster album. But this video is probably one of her most stylish and dark and I think she's taken it to a whole new level. There are shades of Madonna in there, which I'm sure were intentional after hearing Gaga speak so fondly, kindly and gracefully about Madonna recently, so I like how she sort of paid homage to her but still managed to pull it off as her own thing. In terms of does this make sense, or is it related to the song in any way, well I think that is subjective and is really up to the individual. Personally, to me Lady Gaga's work is like a piece of art. Her songs, her looks, her videos, her performances ect are all art, and that's what she does. She doesn't just produce pop music, she creates art and fashion and this is probably her finest example yet of how she does that. The video doesn't make absolute sense, nor does it convincingly tie in with the song (although I think it fits a lot better than the Telephone video) but it's all about the interpretation. Perhaps the clearest message she is portraying is one aimed at her gay fanbase, which has always been important to her. But there seems to be images of war, religion, anarchy, death and societies attitudes towards gender (as well as the odd joke about the hermaphrodite rumour thrown in as well ). So yeah, I really like it. It's one of the first music videos in a while where I've felt like I've had something to say after watching, which I think goes to show just how layered it is, and I think Gaga and the creative team behind it have done a fantastic job.

I am a huge Gaga fan as you can probably tell by my username! David I too wanted Dance In The Dark to be released instead of Alejandro! maybe she'll release one more single, since she's not bringing out her third album out at Christmas anymore, so hopefully it will be DITD, or Speechless. Speechless would be great since she hasn't really released any ballads. I adored the Alejandro video, many people are saying it might as well be porn, and I agree with them. But I don't find that a bad thing, the absolute dirty and filthy parts of the video were my favourite. From what I remember reading somewhere, the video is about her love for Gay men, and the fact they don't want anything from her other then friendship, as opposed to sex. The video did smell an awful lot like Madonna, but that's to be expected considering her biggest influence is Madonna. Lady Gaga says when she dies she wants to be considered an icon, and if she carries on the way she's going she's definitely going to become a legendary pop icon.
