General Posting Rules:

1. Respect order: if you want to discuss or post news about anything, make sure you do so in the right board/sub-board. Avoid talking about the book version of a series in the movie section of said series and vice versa.

2. No double posting: if no one has replied to your previous post, copy-past it in a new post, add "Edit" below it and type your new message. Once you have posted the new post, delete the old one.

3. Stay on topic. PMs are there for a reason. There is even a random board on Shadow Tales should you need one.

4. Put content within your posts. Posts with only a few words will not be tolerated. If all you have to say is, "LOL!" then hold your tongue until you have something more to say.

5. No posts or topics are to be made with CAPS letters. Such topics will be edited by one of the Gods. Also no chat talk (how r u? / I luv u) or using dIsToRtEd text, it may look cool but it can sometimes be a pain to read.

6. Do not advertise other boards or sites here. We have a topic especially for that at Shadow Tales, so you can advertise yours there. Discussion on illegal software and programming will not be tolerated either.

7. This is a news board, all right. BUT it doesn't mean we want to hear about petty gossip on Britney's new haircut or Brad Pitt's new kid. Keep it to the averagely confirmed facts, guys.

8. The Gods' decisions are final. If you disagree with it, PM one of us in question and discuss it further there: no public spats are allowed.

Avatars and Signatures:

1. The standard avatar size for members will be 100x100 pixels. You are allowed to upload your own avatar; you are not restricted to using the ones we provide.

2. No banners larger than 500 pixels in width and no animations. Reason therefore is that the board can only take so much and if everyone has animated banners, it will take forever to load. Keep the size of the banner below 500kb.

3. You are allowed to wear only ONE banner.

4. If you are not sure that your banner is the correct size, submit it to the Avatar and Banner Check in the "Application Form" so that we can help you out.

5. You are allowed to post a link to your fan fic thread in your signature as long as it is hosted at Shadow Tales.

Community Life Rules:

1. Vulgar or inappropriate language and insulting posts will not be tolerated. Keep it as clean as you can please. Insulting other members or shows will get you a warning, so please behave on that front. Also be respectful when posting on the board, no nude pictures or any inappropriate material as we have young members on the board.

2. You do not need to ask us to change your username; you can do it on your own. Just go into "Profile" then "Modify" and then just change your "Username." If you still aren't sure about how to do it, PM one of the Gods.

Please do advise everyone when you change your Username in the Username Changes topic in the "Application Form" board.

Also do not create a new account. Double accounts will be deleted.

3. If you have lost your password, use the function when you log in to send a request for a new password. It will then be emailed to the address you submitted when you registered.

4. Moderator (Demi-God) positions.
The board is expected to be ever-expanding as new shows, books and musics appear daily. You have a chance to become a Demi-God (aka mod) in two ways:

1. If you suggest a show/book/etc (sub)board, you will be expected to enliven it, post news when they appear, etc. (Of course, the other members will still have a right to post news and such, but as the person who requested the board, you will be in charge of it, like a real moderator. If you do a good job and we're pleased of you, you might make it to the Demi-God status.

2. If we Gods see that your posts are regular and relevant, you might well be offered a Demi-God status.

Warnings and Ban:

1. Not following these rules will result in a first written warning which you will receive in your PM box. If you have not responded to the PM after 2 days you will receive an official warning next to your name. Once you receive your third and final warning, your banning will be discussed between the Gods.

2. Registering again after you have been banned will result in your new account being deleted and your IP blocked from the site. If you continue to register on this board after being banned and your account deleted, your IP provider will be contacted.
