Melinda Warren:

As “witches gone bad” warlocks are determined to make their mark by torturing innocents. Another quest is to kill witches and steal their powers. Warlocks have also been known to form agreements with demons to further their goals. All of this is done in an effort to strengthen their own power to perform evil deeds.
Warlocks have been growing stronger and stronger with each generation.
They usually appear in human form. However, they can easily take on a monstrous demeanour. It is difficult to recognise warlocks until they have revealed their evil powers."

Protection Spell:

Pour red wine into a silver chalice;
Cover a table with dark blue cloth and light candles;

To Break the Bond of Love:

Light a circle of white candles around a table;
Place a flat copper bowl in the middle filled with 9 candles anointed with oil and spices and burn them ;
Carve a poppet out of soap;
Press (rose) thorns into the poppet and let it burn while reciting the spell:
“Your love will wither and depart
from my life and from my heart”

Although the book is supposed to retell 1x01 "Something Wicca This Way Comes" it differs in some parts: e.g. Prue meets Andy for the first time in a café: Darryl is not present; Phoebe has an encounter with the “ghost” of Melinda Warren, Phoebe meets Andy in a Wiccan store, the spells aren't exactly the same, ect.)

Patty's maiden name is said to be Marsten.

In “1x09 The Witch Is Back” the lover who betrayed Melinda is Matthew Tate; in the book, however, it is said that his name was Hugh Montgomery (he obviously was not a warlock either).

The book does not mention Kit coming to the girls.

Warlocks, in the series' canon, do not bleed but Jeremy is described as bleeding.

The information about Melinda Warren conflicts with that which was given later in the show: e.g. Melinda had one daughter, not two (1x09 "The Witch Is Back"); Melinda was born in Virginia, not in England (3x04 "All Halliwell's Eve").[/spoiler]
