Well, that's it. I'm Hufflepuff stock. After the initial grudge, and reading the welcoming/House-history message, I have to agree that I belong. :-)
Now for actual insight:
It's almost everything you could, as a HP fan, hope for! We get to brew potions and cast spells and learn additional backgrounds, and while the activity of spell-casting itself isn't all that exciting, learning the new spells' incantation after wondering about them for over a decade far outweighs that! Now, potion-making, that's a real challenge and brings Snape's comments in a whole new light. I tried about 10 times before I managed to get my first potion correctly! And yes, that's the Cure for Boils they learn in the first Potions class :-) Potion-making is about the most accurate (life-relating) activity so far. Don't expect to be done in about 10 seconds or what, you actually have to let the thing brew! Yes, I'm ecstatic, sue me
