True Blood, 4. 01 - She's not There Sookie journeys to a fairy plane with her fairy Godmother to find a lost family member. As she returns to Bon Temps, she finds things are very different in town. Jason, who has now become an enforcer of the law, continues to watch over the people of Hotshot. Tara has found a new life in New Orleans with a new romantic life. Sam has found a new group of friends and fellow shifters to vent to, and Luna has certainly caught his interest. Tommy has found a new home and friendship under Maxine's wing. Jessica and Hoyt adjust to living together. Jesus leads Lafayette into a new coven in town with Holly in the circle as well as Marnie at the head. After the battle between him and the Queen, he finds himself under new power. And Eric is in control as he buys and renovates Sookie's house. ___ Forgive the somewhat crappy synopsis. Feel free to post your thoughts on the season premiere here.

I found this episode less-than-satisfactory. Everything was moving so fast; Lafayette and Jesus were vomit-worthy as usual, and for the first time, Hoyt and Jessica bored me, and well, the Fae are fugs? Good save! I somehow enjoyed the book versions of them, but I trust Alan Ball with this move of his. I also kinda enjoyed Sam's little circle of shapeshifting friends. Luna: can you say hot mama of shapeshifting ass? Or in this episode's case, boob.
Highlight of the episode: The scenes of Eric and Bill playing their roles in the PRE (Post-Russell Edgington) vampire propaganda. Loved the Eric bits, even Pam's before that.
Also, Tara, a lesbian. I have a feeling she's more bisexual.
Oh, and Martin, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the episode. Don't waste time posting synopses; I simply copy-pasted them from TV.com. Follow suit.

Yeah, I was actually contemplating c&p the synopsis from Wiki, but I just said, "screw it". Will do next time. Same here. That's the one thing I hated about the season premiere that a whole freaking year passed. I feel like there's so much that I wished we had seen the exact moment after, mainly Sam and Tommy. Ehh. I mean, yeah, Lafayette needs to shave his mohawk, but I kind of feel like they're going to be more badass in future. This is just me hoping. But the Moongoddess wasn't all that bad. It was interesting to see Alan's take on witchcraft. But Marnie really does creep me out. Your VILF BORED you?! Actually, I thought they were somewhat cute. A year has passed, and I kind of heard growth in Jessica's voice, especially when Hoyt first walks in the house. She kinda sounded like a lazy thirty-something Southern lady or something. The whole egg scene was pretty cute to me though. And Jessica dancing at Fantasia, me gusta. And I'm glad to see Pam still has her sense of humor. "That tree with the plaid shirt has a name?" Oh, hell yeah. Another thing I wanted to see somewhere in the year that's passed. And yeah, Sam and Luna, please. Yeah, both of them are going to be fun to watch this season. Us getting to see how Eric deals with Bill as king is going to be fun. Though, since it's been a year, he's probably gotten used to it. I actually hate King Bill as I shall vent in the next thread. Naw, I'm not really buying it. Whether it's just me or Rutina, herself, it didn't feel like she's full on lesbian. Bisexual, possibly. But I just think she's just experimenting on the count of not finding happiness in testosterone. Other thoughts: Jason's really has grown up since I first met him in season 3. I actually couldn't remember him making a dumb joke. And Andy hooked on V; I'm pretty sure alot of us saw it coming. The last time we saw him, he was looking at the bag of V with curiosity. But his scenes were funny as hell. Tommy and Maxine: WTF??!!! Of all the people... I don't get it. Terry, Arlene, and baby Rene: Terry's really starting to grow on me. Arlene is...Arlene. Not much to say about them, really. It was an...okay first episode.
