As a troubled teen, Nikita was rescued from death row by Division, a secret U.S. agency that trained her as an assassin and spy. After the agency betrayed her, Nikita spent three years in hiding. Now she is seeking revenge, stopping at nothing to shut down and expose the operation, her former boss, Percy, and her former friends at Division. Meanwhile, the agency continues to recruit and train new members, bringing in young people, erasing their pasts, and turning them into cold and efficient killers. [/i][/center] Did we like? I actually really enjoyed it, I've never seen any other the Nikita films or the other TV series so I only had a very basic idea of what it would be about, but from what I'd seen it had a very Alias vibe about it. And it did. It seemed very similar to Alias (and Dollhouse in a way as well) but it's so good to see the CW making shows like this instead of their usual teen junk. I really liked Nikita, I thought the actress could do with giving it just a little bit extra, I understand why she was like she was but I'd have liked a bit more conviction from her because she was a bit, not boring, but still if that makes sense. I think they've set the whole Division storyline up well, I loved the twist at the end with Alex, I'm hoping we get a few flashbacks showing how that all came about because that revelation really made the episode for me. It made the whole story that much tighter and I think it's going to be a really great storyline. Perhaps a slightly limited one though. So yeah, so far so good. I'm hoping now that it's past the pilot/introductory stage that future episodes will have a bit more action but aside from that it was a really promising pilot.

It was quite a tight pilot, so much happened. I just hope they keep that speed/style throughout the series. Definitely gonna watch episode two. Never watched Alias, but it did remind me of Dollhouse alot. There was also some photography that closely mirrored scenes from the latter. No problem with Maggie Q (sorry to mutilate your post, btw). I did have an issue with was Melinda Clarke though; I felt she could put in more into her performance as her character (Amanda, was it?) didn't come off quite strong, as did Olivia Williams' "Adele DeWitt" in Dollhouse. The Topher archtype here, forgot his name, was not that Topher-y, and he actually teased Nikita and had some sort of sexual identity. I laughed out loud at the scene where he was taped to the playground horsie. Raise of hands: who thinks (well, knows) that he gave into her offer? I'd give this pilot an A+. Not many first episodes can impress and keep you impressed all the way to the end. Coming up, TVD S02E01 review by a third time viewer of the series (I watched S01E01-E02 only), and it will (hopefully) be more elaborate than this one.

My mom and I started to watch it, but it was so much like a cheap copy of Alias. Down to the name of the guy that she loved, who the people she worked for killed, being named "Daniel." If we had kept watching maybe we would have liked it more, but we'd rather watch Alias, so we just got back to our marathon of that. But hey, I read that Alias was compared greatly to the original Nikita show, so... originality is pretty much non-existent these days. Anyway, I'm glad the CW is straying into different territory and I hope the show does well. I may watch more of it one day. Although, I have a bit of a problem with how skinny that woman is. She doesn't look like she could take down a man twice her size. With Jennifer Garner you believe it, especially since she did most of those fights/stunts herself. With this woman playing Nikita... she looks so rail thin. Like her arm would snap if she punched someone. Oh, and if you haven't watched Alias... you should. Go. Rent. Buy. Now.

While I didn't really connect with the character that well (and yeah, I think she was called Amanda) I kind of liked her. She seemed unhappy about what she was doing, that scene where Alex attacked her, before Alex came into the room she looked very sad, so I wouldn't be surprised if she began to question the Division.
Alias was good, but it really dipped in quality after the initial story of brining down SD-6 was over. That's what made me think that Nikita's storyline may be limited because they can only have her fighting to bring down Division for so long without it getting boring, but after she does bring it down (assuming of course she will) what then?
