Okay, wow. Loved this episode.
The start scene was awesome. Colloidal silver, very effective! It was nice to see Pam kick his ass, very Pam. And then Yvetta walking in and saving the day (temporarily). I liked the Pam-Eric scenes this time. They have such a great relationship. I'm not a big fan of the "I like you better cold and heartless" line because it was used before, more than once, I think. Another thing, can makers send their progeny some sort of telepathic/distant messages? Eric mutters "Don't let them see..." when he walks into the sun, and I assumed it was for Pam. How does she hear it, and not the others (Beel and Russell)?
I loved Russell's reaction to finding out that Sookie's one of the " fucking fairies"! And the scene with him and Eric in the museum (?).
Lafayette. I called it, Jesus is some freaky scared-ass who's using Lafayette as a magical condom. He needs protection, and Lafayette has that power. Speaking of, I was rewatching the S1 episode today (the one with Sookie's Gran's funeral) and Lafayette says he "smells the fear" in the cake and jello people have made for Sookie. I bet this is just some chef quirk, but it could be his underlying witch abilities at work.
In the episode before that one, where Beel gives his speech at the church, Hoyt smells a bottle of TruBlood, wanting to try it (I don't remember if he actually does, in a later episode), and that's carried over into this episode, where he's accepting of the vampire nature. I really, really think he will be turned, sooner or later. And yuss, hot Jesska! I love Deborah Ann Woll. Oh, and what's her double-chins and dwarf-boobs are teaming up. I hated them both. If they touch my Jesska...
Okay Beel. Cut the fuckin' crap out already! Did anyone else get the feeling he was lying through his teeth (as was Sookeh, kinda) when they were having that conversation in the car? I did like their ramble about ideal "normal" life though. He's a really untrustworthy character, and hopefully
we'll have Sookeh choose Eric next season with all the amnesia crap that goes on.
Jason. I felt kinda bad for him. It's such a difficult situation he's put in; he doesn't have any power, and the only way for him to get that power, is to start on the V again. Which is bad. I really hate that guy.
Sam. Yes, he's verging on annoying now. Perhaps he crossed it. Heck, I even started feeling bad for Tommy again. Not a good thing. And he's getting it on with Tara. Ugh. I want some Tara-Jason stuff. Sam should go hate-fuck Holly or something, and be hexed into being a dog as a consequence.
Holly... this character. I dunno. I just feel like I could be getting a whole lot more out of her had the actress been more powerful in some of her delivery. I gotta admit, the rape-support-group scene and the one where she first confronts Arlene about the Wiccabortion went really well, but elsewhere, she just falls flat. Even the scene in the woods. Okay, it's good that they're going there, but I just feel it wasn't quite TB, and could have been a bit darker. I too, thought Holly was going to stab her. But I did enjoy Arlene's reaction to the ritual and stuff. I smell a conversion in the near future...
Now Arlene's baby. I wonder what all that's about. Is it really "evil", or is it all in her head? And another thing I don't get is that either way, it
is an abortion. It is a freaking "sin". So why go do it, even when Terry's willing to help raise the child. Screw this cheap dye-job.
The cliffhanger was kinda meh. And two weeks. Awesome. I'll have good connection then.
Keep an eye open for the 3.12 thread with the trailer and other spoilers.
