Castiel - Dean and Castiel, "Lazarus Rising".[/quote] Introduced in the Season 4 premiere as the hand that gripped Dean out from damnation, the angel Castiel launched the next move on the show - that being of angels and God for the coming war. What made Castiel different from the other angels was his alien curiosity over humanity, studying them too closely and this strengthened his alliance with the Winchesters, particularly Dean, much to the dismay of his heavenly garrison. The character debuted in Season 4's "Lazarus Rising" and gained speed in his flight through the fandom's heart with his starring role in Season 5 and is touching down with more heavenly grace in the renewed Season 6.

I'm not sure how I feel about him having these God-like powers. If he can bring back the dead whenever he pleases, heal all injuries and all the other things he can probably do now, where does that leave the brothers? They can never die.

There's bound to be some consequences, don't worry. Not to mention, who's to say that he'll be able to keep everything under wraps Up There? Castiel's always been a fine soldier, but we haven't seen him really take on a full-on leadership role as well. Also, they might introduce some new cool angel magic now that might deflect that.

Ha, Lex. Thanks for starting up the Cas thread.
I definitely love the character of Castiel. The writers wrote him very well. Shall we discuss favorite episodes?
My favorites have to be... 'Lazarus Rising' because of his kick-ass introduction. The exploding lights and moving of the ceiling in the warehouse was awesome. And those shadow-wings? C'mon. How can that NOT interest you?
'I Know What You Did Last Summer' and 'Heaven and Hell' (Which I consider to be a two-parter) were pretty cool episodes, but not only for Cas, but for the whole plot and whatnot.
'On The Head Of A Pin', which is undoubtedly one of my favorite episodes of the entire series, was only enhanced by Misha's acting. The fight scene between Cas and Uriel was one for the history books too.
And the last three episodes from 'The Rapture' to 'Lucifer Rising' were just filled to the brim of Cas goodness.
Wow. Those are a lot of episodes, and that's only from season 4! Ha. I can't really remember a lot of season 5, but I did like the episode when Cas beat the hell out of Dean in some alleyway. Dean was going to say yes to Michael, meaning everything Castiel did for him and Sam was basically for nothing. That was slightly emotional, and very cool to see him so pissed off.

Has it been reported yet as to how many episodes he'd be in for Season 6? Is it going to be like Season 5?
