So, it's definitely one of my favorite Buffy season openers. It launched off Buffy exploring the dark roots behind her and every past Slayer's power and Dracula helped her learn the difference between a regular nighttime stroll-and-patrol from the thirst of the hunt. The fight scenes of Buffy's hunting were both really excellent, the vamps went out with style and her final battle with Dracula was well executed too.
I won't say much right now, but I do want to say that the end of this episode was definitely the opening to my one of my favorite archs in this series - Dawn's arrival. From all the series premonitions dating back to Season 3 of her coming, it made for a damn good storyline and season.
It was really great to see Giles back to tutoring Buffy of her nature as well considering the complete absence of an important role in the previous season. Honestly, he needed a character resurrection and they finally reeled that plot back in.
"How do you like my darkness now?" I loved this line right after she staked Dracula, later followed by, "You think I don't watch your movies? You always come back." And then as the Dark Prince begins to mist back together hilariously. Buffy throws out another, "I'm standing right here!" Awesome scene.
Awesome episode. Did anyone else have any thoughts on it?

I found this episode quite silly and mediocre to be honest.
I enjoyed Dracula's thrall over them all, especially Xander haha. I shall rewatch this episode and get back to you with more detail, as all I remember is the effect of the thrall on them all, and the ending.
I think the ending was well-scripted. For someone who didn't follow spoilers back then, when Buffy words mirror our thoughts "What are you doing here?" And then the "sister" and "mom" moments just had us all go "WTF", I'm sure. But luckily the next episode explained that.
